Industrial Training Institute Students at NIMI – On-the-Job Training

As part of an initiative under the guidance of Shri N. R. Aravindan, Deputy Director General (DDG – South Zone); Shri T. V. Rajasekar, Executive Director; Smt. M. Rajeswari, Joint Director; and Smt. R. Eswari, Deputy Director, along with the NIMI team, this program supports the initiatives of the Directorate General of Training (DGT) to strengthen and upskill the ITI ecosystem. Students from Government ITIs in the Draughtsman Mechanical trade recently enrolled in and successfully completed an On-the-Job Training (OJT) program at the National Instructional Media Institute (NIMI), Chennai. During the visit, they also participated in the OJT Assessment Test conducted at the NIMI CAD Department, gaining hands-on exposure to professional drafting and design practices. The session provided students with valuable insights into industry-level drafting standards, CAD practices, and technical skill assessment, helping them strengthen their technical knowledge and better prepare for future career opportunities in the engineering and manufacturing sectors. Through such initiatives, NIMI continues to support skill development and empower ITI students with practical learning experiences and industry-oriented training.
